Defined the outline for the game and delegated tasks to keep up the momentum .
Worked with an agile methodology, acting on feedback quickly and adjusting the goalposts of the project to ensure a complete product by the end of the 48 hour deadline.
Assisted in the technical implementation of various gameplay mechanics when team members were facing challenges.
Created the system structure to allow for the games data to persist across levels.
Implemented a high score system where the quickest time will be displayed for each level.
Created the UI functionality and level select menu.
Created the core game loop, ideating with the rest of the team to ensure the project goals were clearly defined and everyone was happy to work towards the vision.
Ideated upon the core game mechanics, including; the bubble abilities, the fling mechanics, and the games traps.
How to effectively organise and take charge of a project, guiding the team and promoting a healthy line of communication between members, both on location and remote.
Improved my skills organising the different elements of the project, managing GitHub and ensuring no conflicts ensued.
Fast paced iteration, troubleshooting bugs and iterating and solving where necessary to keep the teams productivity high
Gained a better understanding of how to structure game systems to effectively pass data between actors, making use of the game instance, custom initialisation chains, interfaces, and event dispatchers.
